Refractory bricks made from mullite, sillimanite and andalusite show the features of superior anti-erosion, good thermal shock resistance and excellent creep resistance, which is used in glass furnace, alkali-free fiber furnace, blast furnace, hot blast stove, refractory tunnel kiln, etc. Andalusite refractory bricks is mainly used in cooling stave of blast furnace, ceramics and chemical industry.
Sillimanite brick is made of sillimanite. After the treatment of high temperature calcination, sillimanite turn into mullite and free silicon dioxide. Generally, Sillimanite brick is made by high-temperature firing and mud casting.
The physical and chemical properties of sillimanite brick is better than that of high alumina bricks, with refractoriness 1770 ~ 1830 ℃, load softening starting point 1500 ~ 1650 ℃. Sillimanite bricks are mainly used for the formation of flow cavity of the glass chamber, blast furnace lining, furnace throat and ceramic industry kiln furniture.
