Lightweight refractory castable is made of lightweight refractory aggregate and powder, binder and admixtur. General provisions of lightweight refractory castable: castable with Bulk density less than 1800kg / m3, refractoriness is not required, or the total porosity greater than 45%, the line shrinkage of less than 1.5% at the specified temperature.
Lightweight refractory castables are characterized by small bulk density, low thermal conductivity, and therefore it has good thermal insulation function. Lightweight refractory castable can be many varieties. Generally it can be classified by light weight aggregate varieties, production methods, binder type and performance levels. The most commonly used is divided into lightweight aggregate varieties of light brick, porous clinker, hollow ball, ceramsite and expanded perlite and other lightweight refractory castable.
Light refractory castable performance test is basically the same with heavy refractory castable. The difference is that the load softening temperature of the test, the load is 0.1MPa.
It should be noted that with the need for energy-saving industrial furnaces, lightweight refractory castable will have greater development. The direction is light, high strength, low thermal conductivity, easy to use and low prices. In addition, lightweight aggregates and binders are generally used in combination, and admixture, in order to develop an excellent lightweight refractory castable.
