What is UY Connector ?
UY connector (TP-1310-UY) which we also call "UY box". The small size of the UY connector reduces the splicing bundle O.D. The connector’s two ports accept two solid copper conductors. The connector is filled with a sealant to provide moisture resistance.It is employs an insulation displacement contact (IDC) so that stripping of the conductor insulation prior to installation is not required,and easily installed and crimped using any of the connector crimping tools (TP-5931-311)
This UY connector is applied to telephone wiring connection. The butt connector is designed for 0.4mm-0.7mm solid copper cables with max insulation diameters 1.52mm.
The connector is filled with a moisture resistant compound in order to provide moisture proof connections.The connector can provide total environmental sealing around IDC-contacts. Traction resistance must be at least 75% of cable rupture resistance Category 5, according to EIA/TIA 568A.
