Forced-Circulation Evaporator
A forced circulation evaporator is a high-performance evaporation system specifically designed for challenging process liquids such as high-viscosity solutions, crystallizing salts, and scaling-prone fluids. Unlike conventional evaporators, it employs a mechanical circulation pump to drive the liquid through the heat exchanger at high velocity, ensuring uniform heating, preventing local overheating, and effectively minimizing fouling and scaling on heat transfer surfaces.
Working Principle
The system mainly consists of a heat exchange chamber and a crystallization (separator) vessel. The process operates as follows:
The feed liquid is circulated at high speed through the heat exchanger using a forced circulation pump.
The liquid is heated under pressure above its normal boiling point, achieving a superheated state.
The heated liquid then enters the separator, where a sudden pressure drop triggers flash evaporation.
Vapor is separated and can be reused in multi-effect systems or condensed.
The concentrated liquor is discharged or further processed in crystallization units depending on the application.
This continuous circulation ensures stable operation, high heat transfer efficiency, and excellent resistance to scaling.
