1. Product Overview
Steel Billet is semi-finished steel product obtained by molten steel continuous casting, which serves as the primary raw material for hot rolling processing. Steel Billet has uniform chemical composition and stable internal texture, and can be further rolled into various finished steel products.
Continuous Casting Billet is the mainstream production form of steel billet in modern steel mills. Continuous Casting Billet boasts high production efficiency, stable quality and low production cost, which is widely circulated in the global steel raw material market.
Square Steel Billet refers to steel billet with square cross-section, the most common specification for rolling rebars, flat steel, section steel and wire rods. Square Steel Billet features neat shape and accurate dimension tolerance, convenient for stacking, transportation and heating in rolling mills.
2. Product Classification
2.1 Classification by Cross Section Shape
Square Steel Billet: Square cross-section, widely used for producing deformed steel bar, flat steel, angle steel and wire rod.
Rectangular Billet: Rectangular cross-section, mainly used for rolling steel plate, steel strip and hot rolled coil.
2.2 Classification by Steel Grade
Ordinary Carbon Steel: Q235B, S235JR, suitable for rolling common construction steel and general structural steel.
Low Alloy Steel: Q355B, S355JR, applied for producing high strength section steel and reinforced steel products.
2.3 Classification by Production Mode

3. Production Process Flow
All Steel Billet, Continuous Casting Billet and Square Steel Billet are manufactured through standardized continuous casting process:
Raw material melting in electric furnace or converter
Molten steel refining and composition adjustment
Continuous casting machine solidification forming
Online cutting to fixed length
Slow cooling to reduce internal stress
Appearance inspection, surface grinding treatment if needed
Sampling chemical composition testing
Bundling, marking and warehousing

6. Usage Precautions
Choose suitable size and grade of Steel Billet, Continuous Casting Billet and Square Steel Billet according to downstream rolling product design requirements.

Stack on flat ground, keep ventilation to prevent serious surface rust.
Strictly control heating temperature and holding time before hot rolling to avoid overheating or burning loss.
