1. Product Overview

The Crude Oil Dehydration Tank Skid (also known as Electrostatic Dehydrator Skid or Electric Treater Skid) is a modular final-stage separation unit engineered for oilfield surface facilities. Utilizing high-voltage AC/DC electric fields combined with thermal demulsification, it breaks persistent oil-water emulsions and reduces crude oil water cut from up to 30% down to ≤0.5% BS&W (Basic Sediment and Water), while optionally removing salts to ≤5–10 PTB—fully meeting pipeline export and refinery intake specifications.

Designed and fabricated in our Hebei production facility to ASME Section VIII Div.1 / API 12J / GB/T 150 standards, each skid integrates heating coils, chemical injection, high-voltage electrode assemblies, oil-water interface control, and PLC automation on a single structural base. With 100% shop assembly and FAT verification prior to shipment, on-site work is limited to positioning and utility connections, enabling commissioning in 3–5 days with minimal civil works.

4. Working Principle

  1. Preheating: Produced fluid enters the heating section where temperature is raised to 60–80°C, reducing crude viscosity and enhancing gravity separation.

  2. Chemical Injection: Demulsifier is injected upstream to weaken interfacial films between oil and water phases.

  3. Electrostatic Coalescence: Fluid flows through the high-voltage electric field zone. Polarized water droplets collide and coalesce into larger drops under AC/DC field influence.

  4. Gravity Settling: Enlarged water droplets settle to the vessel bottom by gravity; treated crude oil rises and overflows from the top collection section.

  5. Interface Control: Continuous water drainage from the bottom and controlled oil export from the top are regulated by PLC based on real-time oil-water interface measurement.

  6. Sludge Management: Heavy solids and sediment accumulate in the conical hopper for periodic removal.
