1. Product Overview
Steel billet is semi-finished steel produced by continuous casting of molten steel. It acts as the upstream core raw material for rolling rebar, wire rod, round bar, steel pipe, steel plate and section steel. It cannot be directly used for end products and requires secondary reheating, rolling or forging processing.
Manufactured by LF secondary refining and full-process continuous casting, our billets feature uniform chemical composition, low inclusion content and minimal internal looseness with stable dimensional tolerance. We supply three major types: square billet, rectangular bloom and continuous-cast round billet.

3. Product Classification & Applications
3.1 Square Billet
Equal width and thickness cross-section, the most widely used type
Common sizes: 120×120mm, 130×130mm, 150×150mm, 165×165mm
Applications: Hot rolled deformed rebar, high-speed wire rod, angle steel, channel steel, small round bars, raw material for steel strands
3.2 Rectangular Bloom
Large cross-section with distinct width and thickness
Common sizes: 150×330mm, 150×380mm, 165×410mm
Applications: Medium & heavy steel plate, H-beam, wide flange section, rough blank for heavy forgings
3.3 Continuous Cast Round Billet
Solid circular cross-section, dedicated for seamless pipe production
Common diameter range: Φ80mm ~ Φ450mm
Applications: Seamless steel pipe, petroleum pipeline, mechanical forgings, transmission shaft blank, high-pressure boiler tube billet
4. Main Material Grades
Carbon steel billet: Q195, Q215, Q235B, SS400, 3SP, 5SP
Rebar special billet: HRB400, HRB500
Low alloy high strength billet: Q345B, Q420B, S355JR
Quality carbon steel billet: 10#, 20#, 35#, 45#, 82B high carbon wire rod billet
Alloy pipe billet: 40Cr, 42CrMo, API series pipeline steel billet
5. Specification Parameters
Standard length: 6m / 9m / 12m, custom cut-to-size available, length tolerance ±200mm
Section tolerance: Diagonal tolerance of square billet ≤6mm, thickness tolerance of slab ±3mm
Single piece weight: 0.8–4 tons, bundled or bulk truck loading acceptable
Surface finish: Hot rolled black oxide surface; surface grinding & scarfing can be provided to remove surface cracks and scabs on request

7. Packing, Shipment & Trade Terms
Packing: Small sizes bundled with steel strips in fixed tons; large cross-section billets shipped in bulk trucks; waterproof tarpaulin covered for export shipments
Marking: Labels attached to each bundle/truck indicating grade, section size, length, heat batch number and net weight
Loading Ports: Tianjin Port, Qingdao Port
Lead time: 5–7 days for spot goods; 7–15 days for special alloy & custom cut sizes
Payment Term: 30% TT deposit, balance TT against copy of bill of lading; LC not accepted
Trade Term: FOB, CIF, CFR, EXW negotiable

9. Pre-Delivery Inspection Items
Dimension & visual inspection: Cross-section width, thickness, diagonal, length, bending degree and surface defects
Chemical analysis: Spectrum test for C, Si, Mn, S, P elements
Mechanical test: Yield strength, tensile strength and elongation test
Non-destructive testing: Ultrasonic inspection for internal defects upon request
Delivery documents: Full set of mill test certificate, heat number list and inspection reports supplied with cargo
