Detailed Specification of Galvanized Channel Steel
1. Product Definition
Galvanized channel steel is an anti-corrosion section steel produced by treating hot-rolled channel steel through hot-dip galvanizing (mainstream process) or electro-galvanizing. It features a C-shaped cross-section, combining excellent structural strength and long-term rust prevention performance.
2. Core Materials
- Conventional Grade: Q235B (carbon steel, cost-effective)
- High-Strength Grade: Q355B/Q345D (low-alloy steel, higher strength, suitable for heavy-load and low-temperature environments)
3. Specification Representation (National Standard GB/T 706)
Format: Model Number (Height h × Flange Width b × Web Thickness d)
Example: 10# Channel Steel = 100×48×5.3mm
- Common Specifications: 5# to 40#; models above 14# are divided into Type A & Type B, models above 25# are divided into Type A, B & C (flange width and web thickness increase progressively)
- Standard Lengths: 6m/9m/12m, customized lengths are available
4. Galvanizing Process & Performance (Hot-Dip Galvanizing as Mainstream)
- Process: Rust removal → Immersion in molten zinc at 440-460℃ → Cooling, forming a zinc-iron alloy layer and pure zinc layer
- Zinc Coating Thickness: ≥80μm (in accordance with National Standard GB/T 13912), more durable in outdoor and salt spray environments
- Core Advantages:
- ✅ Superior Anti-Corrosion: Isolates water, oxygen, acid and alkali, with a service life 3-5 times that of ordinary channel steel
