ZG45Ni35Cr26 centrifugal cast pipe = HP40 (standard type), is the most commonly used high nickel-chromium austenitic heat-resistant cast pipe in petrochemical and high-temperature furnaces, with long-term resistance to carburizing and creep at 1050–1100℃, and high cost performance.

1. Basic information

National standard: ZG45Ni35Cr26 (previously: ZG40Ni35Cr26Si2)

American standard: ASTM A297 HP (J95705)

German standard: 1.4857 / GX40NiCrSi35-26

Process: Centrifugal casting (fine grain, uniform wall thickness, few defects)

Applicable standards: GB/T 8492-2014, SH/T 3087-2017

II. Chemical Composition (wt%, Typical Values)

C: 0.40–0.50 (≈0.45) → carbide strengthening, creep resistance

Ni: 34–37 (≈35) → stable austenite, thermal shock resistance

Cr: 25–28 (≈26) → Anti-oxidation, anti-sulfidation

Si: 1.5–2.5 (≈2.0) → dense oxide film, resistant to carburizing

Mn≤1.5;P≤0.04;S≤0.03

Comparison: Without Nb; with approximately 1% Nb, it is HP40-Nb (ZG40Ni35Cr26Si2Nb1), which has higher high-temperature strength and higher price

III. Core Performance

1. Temperature capability

Continuous: 1050–1100℃

Short-term: 1200℃

Application: 800–1100℃, 1–3MPa, sulfur content/carburizing, frequent start-stop

2. Mechanical properties (room temperature / 1000℃)

Room temperature: tensile strength ≥650MPa, yield strength ≥280MPa, elongation ≥18%

1000℃: High endurance strength, superior creep resistance compared to HK40

3. Corrosion resistance / Anti-carburization

Oxidation rate:

Impermeability to carburization: strong, long-term resistance to embrittlement and coking

Sulfur-resistant (H₂S): Good, low corrosion rate

V. Typical Applications

VI. Heat treatment (as delivered)

Solution treatment: Heat at 1150–1180℃ for 2–4 hours, then air cool → dissolve carbides, achieve uniform microstructure

VII. HP40 (ZG45Ni35Cr26) vs HP40-Nb vs HK40

HP40: 1050–1100℃; without Nb; medium strength; medium price; conventional high-load

HP40-Nb: 1100–1150℃; with Nb; optimal creep resistance/thermal shock resistance; high price; ultra-high temperature long-cycle

HK40: ≤1000℃; low Ni content; moderate strength/carburizing resistance; low price; medium-low temperature
