1. Product Overview
Silicon steel, also named electrical steel, is a special soft magnetic alloy steel with silicon content of 0.5%-4.5% and ultra-low carbon content ≤0.08%. It is a core raw material for electrical equipment, featured with low core loss, high magnetic permeability and high magnetic induction intensity.
It can effectively reduce eddy current loss and hysteresis loss under alternating magnetic field, lower equipment heating and improve electric energy conversion efficiency. Cold rolled silicon steel is the mainstream product in current market, replacing outdated hot rolled silicon steel gradually, with smooth surface, high dimensional accuracy and uniform insulating coating.

2.1 Classified by Grain Structure & Application
Non-oriented Silicon Steel
With randomly arranged internal grains, it presents uniform magnetic performance in all directions. It is suitable for rotating alternating magnetic field equipment, mainly used for motor and generator iron cores.
• Common thickness: 0.35mm, 0.5mm
• Advantages: Excellent stamping performance, suitable for high-speed automatic stamping, cost-effective
• Application scenario: All kinds of rotating motors
Grain-oriented Silicon Steel (Including Conventional & Hi-B High Magnetic Induction Type)
Internal grains are arranged neatly along the rolling direction, owning excellent unidirectional magnetic conductivity along rolling direction. It is specially applied for static voltage transformation equipment.
• Conventional grain-oriented silicon steel: For distribution transformers, mutual inductors and reactors
• Hi-B high magnetic induction silicon steel: Lower core loss and stronger magnetic induction, used for national grid high-voltage transformers, energy-saving dry-type transformers and large power transformation equipment
• Common thickness: 0.23mm, 0.27mm, 0.30mm
2.2 Classified by Surface Insulating Coating
1. Type A Ordinary Organic Coating: Strong adhesion, standard insulation performance, low cost, for medium and small motors & transformers
2. Type B High-temperature Resistant Coating: High temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and high stacking factor, suitable for new energy motors and high-temperature working conditions
3. Non-coating Silicon Steel: Without surface insulation layer, for deep processing factories with self-spraying insulation paint
2.3 Classified by Production Process
Cold rolled non-oriented silicon steel, cold rolled grain-oriented silicon steel, hot rolled silicon steel (phased out, only for old equipment maintenance)

Double-layer moisture-proof and rust-proof packaging for steel coils, with outer steel guard plate; waterproof paper + plastic film wrapped inside. Cut steel sheets are packed with moisture-proof wooden cases to avoid scratch and moisture rust during sea and land transportation.
