H-beam is a high-efficiency and economical structural steel with optimized sectional mechanical properties. It features flat, uniform and parallel flanges, outstanding bending resistance, light self-weight, convenient construction and high structural stability. As a high-grade load-bearing profile that replaces traditional I-beams and channel steels, it is widely used in steel structure workshops, high-rise buildings, bridge projects, municipal infrastructure, equipment foundations, pile foundation projects and other scenarios. This is a complete product specification covering materials, mechanical properties, full-range models, dimensions and theoretical weights.

1. Product Structure and Definition

The cross-section of an H-beam consists of a web (middle vertical plate) and flange plates (lateral plates on both sides) with right-angle parallel structure without inclination.

Specification representation: Height H × Flange Width B × Web Thickness t1 × Flange Thickness t2 (Unit: mm)

Classification Code: HW (Wide Flange), HM (Medium Flange), HN (Narrow Flange), HP (Pile Type)

2. Main Material Types, Mechanical and Chemical Parameters

The mainstream commercial materials for engineering are Q235B and Q355B, accounting for over 95% of engineering applications. Low-alloy, weather-resistant and imported materials are also available.

2.1 Application Scenarios of Common Materials

  • Q235B: Ordinary carbon structural steel with good toughness, excellent weldability and high cost performance. It is suitable for conventional working conditions at room temperature, including ordinary workshops, canopies, platforms, light steel structures, municipal support frames and low-rise building frames.

  • Q355B (Former Q345B): High-strength low-alloy steel with over 30% higher strength than Q235B, featuring superior load resistance, impact resistance and wind pressure resistance. It is applied to key projects with high seismic requirements, such as high-rise buildings, large-span workshops, bridges, heavy-duty equipment foundations and cold storage structures.

  • Special Materials: Q235NH/Q355NH weathering steel (for outdoor bridges and landscape steel structures), SM490, SS400 (for export), Q420 high-strength steel (for super high-rise heavy load-bearing structures).
