RDP/VAE(Redispersible Polymer Powder/Redispersible Powder)
RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder/Redispersible Powder) or VAE is a water-soluble re-dispersible powder. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It dissolves in water easily and forms emulsion quickly, RDP could offer strong adhesive and stretching force to improve the workability, flexibility and water-proofing of the materials. Redispersible Polymer Powder is a kind of free-flowing white powder,which is spray-dryed by polymer emulsion and after subsequent treatment to keep the stability of powder appearance and character. The mainly application is in construction dry-mixed mortar,and have excellent performance in increasing the dry mortar cohesion,adhesion and flexibility.
The redispersible polymer powder(VAE) is a water-soluble re-dispersible powder. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It uses polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid. By adding re-dispersible latex powder, the performance of mortar with cement or gypsum as the substrate can meet the needs of various constructions.

- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp as a VAE polymer powder can be redispersed well into polymer emulsion again after mixing with water.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp with the characteristics of middle glass transition temperature, therefore, has a good balance between adhesion and flexibility, and wide universality of application.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp can form film with suitable hardness inside and surface of the finished construction material product, which can significantly improve the cohesion, wear resistance, impact resistance and waterproofing ability.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp with good acid and alkaline resistance, is good for the workability and weatherability of the construction material products which used it.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp with good and wide compatibility, can use with almost all other chemical additives in diverse formulations.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp not only retains the superior performances of the original VAE emulsion, such as good film formation, excellent adhesion and durable flexibility, but also improves the convenience and stability for transportation, storage and operation.
- SETAKY-501R3 Rdp is produced without adding plasticizer, film forming additives or solvent, so it has excellent environmental protection, low odor, low VOC.

Applications and dosage
SETAKY-501R3 is recommended to use in dry mixing mortar or powder construction material products, such as ceramic tile adhesive, tile grout, external wall insulation system (EIFS/ETICS), extrusion mortar for EPS component, waterproofing mortar, self-leveling mortar, repair mortar, decorative mortar, skim coat, fire-resistant mortar, sound insulation mortar, Joint compound, AAC adhesive, gypsum products, etc.
Normally recommended dosage is 0.5~5% in total formulation.
- In EIFS/ETICS formulation, is recommended to add 2~4% dosage of SETAKY-501R3, which can effectively improve the bonding strength, impact resistance and reduce water absorption.
- In skim coat formulation, is recommended to add 1~5% dosage of SETAKY-501R3, which can significantly reduce water absorption, improve the flexibility and bonding strength with the substrate.

Storage
- SETAKY-501R3 storage should protect from moisture.
- At storage temperatures above 30℃ or under pressure during storage may cause SETAKY-501R3 caking occurs.
- If SETAKY-501R3 is not used up after opening, it should be sealed in time and used as soon as possible.
- The optimal service life of SETAKY-501R3 is 6 montXDD, and the possibility of the product performances beyond the best use period will be reduced.
- In order to ensure the best use effect of SETAKY-501R3, it is recommended to test the product’s performances before use.
