Color Coated Roll Product Detailed Specification
Color coated rolls (also known as color steel rolls or color coated steel coils) are metal composite materials produced by using hot-dip galvanized, hot-dip aluminum-zinc and cold-rolled steel coils as substrates. After degreasing and chemical conversion treatment, the substrates are roller-coated with organic paint and baked for curing. Featuringexcellent corrosion resistance, weather resistance, decorative performance and easy processability, they are core materials widely used in construction, home appliance, transportation and other industries.
1. Core Structure and Substrate
1.1 Structural Composition (Outside to Inside)
1. Top Coat: Provides weather and corrosion resistance, determines product appearance and service life, with a thickness of 15-25μm;
2. Primer Coat: Enhances coating adhesion and secondary anti-corrosion protection, with a thickness of 5-8μm;
3. Chemical Conversion Layer: Improves the bonding force between the coating and the substrate, with a thickness of 2-5μm;
4. Plating Layer: The protective layer of the substrate, mainly including zinc plating and aluminum-zinc plating;
5. Steel Substrate: Cold-rolled, hot-dip galvanized or hot-dip aluminum-zinc steel coil;
6. Back Coat: Provides backside protection, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion performance, with a thickness of 5-10μm.

2. Main Coating Systems (Top Coat, Core Performance)
2.1 PE Polyester
- Performance: High cost performance, good adhesion, rich color options and excellent processability; weather resistance of 5-8 years, suitable for medium corrosion environments;
- Coating Thickness: Top coat ≥20μm;
- Application: Ordinary factory workshops, civil buildings, home appliance shells, interior decoration.
2.2 SMP Silicon Modified Polyester
- Performance: Heat resistance (≤180℃), anti-chalking performance, weather resistance of 8-12 years and strong UV resistance;
- Coating Thickness: Top coat ≥20μm;
- Application: High-temperature roofs, industrial workshops, public buildings, sun exposure areas.
2.3 HDP High Durability Polyester
- Performance: Weather resistance of 15-20 years, excellent anti-aging and anti-fading properties, salt spray resistance ≥5000h;
- Coating Thickness: Top coat ≥25μm;
- Application: High-end buildings, airports, stadiums, non-severe corrosion coastal areas.
2.4 PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluoride
- Performance: Top-level weather resistance (20-30 years), excellent acid and alkali resistance, anti-aging and self-cleaning performance, salt spray resistance ≥10000h;
- Coating Thickness: Top coat ≥25μm;
- Application: Super high-rise landmark buildings, severe corrosion coastal areas, public buildings, photovoltaic brackets.
2.5 HPC High Performance Self-cleaning Coating
- Performance: Hydrophobic surface with rainwater self-cleaning and low maintenance requirements; weather resistance consistent with HDP coating;
- Application: Building curtain walls, roofs and exterior walls that are difficult to clean.

3.1 Dimension Range
- Thickness: 0.12-6.0mm (commonly used: 0.3-1.5mm);
- Width: 600-1250mm (commonly used: 1000/1200mm);
- Inner Coil Diameter: 508mm (20 inches) / 610mm (24 inches);
- Coil Weight: 3-5 tons (slitting available).
3.2 Coating Structure (Top/Back Coating Layers)
- 2/1: Two top coats and one back coat, universal type, suitable for sandwich panels;
- 2/2: Two top coats and two back coats, enhanced corrosion resistance, suitable for single panels and exterior walls;
- 2/1M: Two top coats and one back coat with one-time baking process, high production efficiency.
3.3 Color and Surface Treatment
- Standard Colors: Ocean blue, off-white, brick red, ivory white, porcelain blue;
- Custom Colors: Available according to RAL color card or customer samples;
- Surface Types: Glossy, embossed, printed, anti-static, antibacterial.

Uncoiling → Degreasing & Cleaning → Chemical Conversion Treatment → Primer Coating → Baking → Top Coat Coating → Curing → Cooling → Inspection → Slitting → Packaging

- Coastal areas, severe corrosion environments and long service life demand (over 15 years): Choose PVDF fluorocarbon;
- High budget and long-term durability pursuit: Prioritize aluminum-zinc coated substrate + HDP/PVDF coating.
