Russian EAC certification (Customs Union CU-TR)
EAC stands for the Eurasian Economic Union (comprising Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan), which is a mandatory certification for access. It replaces the old GOST-R and allows for one certification to be valid for all five countries.
1. Certificate type:
* EAC Certificate of Conformity (CoC) (commonly used) Applicable to: household/commercial lighting fixtures (ceiling lights, downlights, table lamps, etc.) Requirements: sample testing + factory audit; valid for 1/3/5 years, with annual supervision.
* EAC Declaration of Conformity (DoC) (Simplified) Applicable to: Industrial lighting fixtures, low-risk products Requirements: Only test report is required, no factory inspection; Validity period of 1/3/5 years.
II. Essential for Customs Clearance & Listing:
* The product bears the EAC mark (minimum size 5×5mm)
* Russian instruction manual, nameplate, and parameters
* Customs clearance requires a photocopy of the certificate. Customs conducts strict inspections, and goods without certification may be detained and subject to fines
III. List of Essential Documents for EAC Certification of Lamps:
1. Business license
2. Product model list, specification and parameter table
3. Product appearance drawing, internal structure drawing, and nameplate photo
4. Product manual in English / Russian
5. Circuit schematic diagram, PCB layout
6. List of key components + Parts certification report
7. Existing CE, LVD, and EMC test reports (can be converted into certificates to save costs)
8. Importer information (information of the local consignee in Russia)
9. Packing list, proforma invoice (for reference)
IV. Additional requirements:
* The nameplate should indicate: voltage, frequency, power, origin, and EAC mark
* Supplementary protection level IP parameters for outdoor/industrial and mining lighting fixtures
* For devices with a driving power supply, the power supply specifications and certifications must be provided separately
