Galvanized Steel Pipe Detailed Product Description
Galvanized steel pipe refers to welded steel pipes with hot-dip galvanized coating (cold-galvanized pipes have been phased out). It combines high steel strength and excellent anti-corrosion performance of zinc coating, widely used for low-pressure fluid transportation, fire protection, building structures and other fields, manufactured in accordance with national standard GB/T 3091-2025.
1. Product Definition & Classification
1.1 Definition
Made of low-carbon steel base material such as Q195, Q215, Q235, formed by high-frequency welding, then processed by hot-dip galvanizing technology to form uniform zinc-iron alloy layer and pure zinc layer on surface, also known as white iron pipe.
1.2 Classification by Production Process
Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Pipe (Mainstream)Immersed in molten zinc liquid at 450℃±5℃, featuring thick zinc coating above 70μm, strong adhesion and service life of 20-30 years. Suitable for water supply, gas and fire protection pipeline systems.
Cold-galvanized Steel Pipe (Prohibited)Electro-galvanized with thin and easy-to-fall zinc layer, poor corrosion resistance. It has been officially banned for water and gas transportation projects.
1.3 Classification by Usage
Low-pressure fluid delivery pipe, fire fighting dedicated pipe, building scaffolding pipe, electrical threading pipe, agricultural irrigation pipe.
2. Material & Core Technical Parameters
2.1 Base Material
Main material: Q235B, yield strength ≥235MPa, tensile strength 370-500MPa, elongation ≥20%.Optional materials: Q195, Q215, Q345B.Chemical composition: Carbon ≤0.22%, Sulfur & Phosphorus ≤0.045%, with good welding performance and ductility.
2.2 Galvanized Layer Parameters
Zinc coating thickness: Standard grade 70-85μm, thickened grade ≥85μm.Zinc coating weight: ≥500g/㎡.Surface appearance: Silvery metallic luster, no missing galvanization, black spots or bubbles.

4. Production Technology
Strip steel uncoiling → straightening → high-frequency welding → fixed-length cutting → burr removal → degreasing & pickling → flux coating & drying → hot-dip galvanizing → cooling & passivation → quality inspection → finished product packaging.

6. Executive Standards & Quality Inspection
Main execution standards: GB/T 3091-2025, GB/T 13793-2016, GB/T 700-2006.Inspection items: Appearance inspection, zinc coating thickness test, tensile test, flattening test, zinc layer uniformity test.
7. Application Scope
Water supply and drainage engineering, low-pressure gas transmission, fire protection pipeline system, building construction scaffolding, agricultural irrigation, cable protection pipeline and industrial ventilation pipeline.
8. Installation Notes
Choose qualified hot-dip galvanized pipes strictly.
Avoid direct welding to prevent damage to galvanized layer; conduct anti-rust treatment after welding.
Buried pipelines shall be coated with anti-corrosion coating for longer service life.
9. Packaging & Delivery
Packed in bundles with steel strips, plastic end caps equipped to avoid collision damage.
Support land transportation and sea transportation, delivery cycle 5-7 working days
