Enzyme-membrane reactor

Introduction 

In biocatalytic processes, the separation of target products and the recovery and reuse of catalysts involve complex operational issues. Enzyme membrane reactors combine biocatalysis, product separation and concentration, and enzyme recovery into a single operational unit. Therefore, enzyme membrane reactors have become a significant area of biochemical reactor research in recent years. Enzyme membrane reactors allow for the reuse of enzymes or cells, maintaining high enzyme and cell concentrations in the reaction system. They also allow for the continuous separation of products from the reaction system, minimizing their inhibitory effects.

This system consists of an enzyme reactor, a membrane separation system, and a PLC touchscreen controller. The enzyme/membrane reactor integrates the biocatalytic, product separation/concentration, and enzyme recovery processes into a single system.
