Performance Features of Special-shaped Shafts
High Forging Ratio Directional Forming
We adopt a forging ratio of ≥3.5 for the shaft main body. The raw material is carbon steel billet produced by electric furnace smelting + ladle refining. Through a composite process of multiple directional drawing, local upsetting/necking, and eccentric forging, we ensure the continuous axial distribution of metal flow lines and full cross-section forging penetration, eliminate core porosity, blowholes and inclusions, and achieve a metal density of ≥99.8%, fundamentally improving torsion resistance and fatigue resistance.
Exclusive Heat Treatment Process
Customized solutions are developed for different carbon steel materials and working conditions: normalizing/annealing for 20#/Q235B, quenching and tempering (quenching + high-temperature tempering) for 45# steel, normalizing + tempering for Q345B. For large special-shaped shafts, we adopt zoned temperature control and slow cooling, with an internal stress elimination rate of ≥98%, to avoid deformation, cracking, and out-of-tolerance of coaxiality/eccentricity during machining or service.
Precision Straightening & Pre-machining
We are equipped with special shaft straightening machines and eccentric/step forming tooling. After rough machining, the coaxiality is ≤0.05mm/m, the eccentricity is ≤0.03mm, the total runout is ≤0.08mm, the tolerance of step/eccentric dimension is ±0.05mm, and the surface roughness is Ra≤1.6μm. We reserve finish machining allowance to reduce downstream machining difficulty and rejection rate.
