I. Product Overview
Pre-painted steel coil (also known as pre-coated steel coil or color steel coil) is a functional metal coil made by taking cold-rolled steel sheets, hot-rolled steel sheets, galvanized steel sheets, etc., as the base material, going through pre-treatment processes such as surface degreasing, phosphating, and passivation, then uniformly applying one or more layers of organic coatings (primer and topcoat) by roller coating, and finally curing by baking. The product combines the high strength and easy processability of the metal base material with the corrosion resistance and decorative advantages of the organic coating. It is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly building and industrial material integrating protection and aesthetics, widely used in various scenarios, which can greatly reduce subsequent construction costs and extend the service life of the product.
II. Core Structure (From Inside to Outside)
Base Material Layer: The core load-bearing layer. Cold-rolled steel coil (CRC), hot-rolled steel coil (HRC), hot-dip galvanized steel coil (GI), aluminum-zinc coated steel coil (GL), etc., can be selected according to requirements, with a thickness range of 0.12mm-2.0mm. The base material determines the overall strength, toughness and basic corrosion resistance of the product. Among them, galvanized/aluminum-zinc coated base materials can further improve the rust resistance of the product.
Pre-treatment Layer: Including three layers of degreasing, phosphating and passivation, it is the key to the combination of the coating and the base material. Degreasing removes oil stains and dust on the surface of the base material, phosphating forms a uniform phosphating film to enhance the adhesion of the coating, and passivation further improves the corrosion resistance of the base material itself, preventing oxidation reaction between the base material and the coating, and extending the service life of the product.
Primer Layer: Located between the pre-treatment layer and the topcoat layer, its main function is to enhance the adhesion between the topcoat and the base material, and at the same time have certain corrosion resistance and UV resistance, blocking the contact between moisture, air and the base material. The commonly used primers are epoxy primer and polyester primer, with a coating thickness of 3-5μm, ensuring synergistic effect with the topcoat and improving the overall protection effect.
Topcoat Layer: The surface decoration and main protection layer of the product. Different types of coatings (polyester, fluorocarbon, silicone-modified polyester, etc.) can be selected according to requirements, with a coating thickness of 8-20μm. The color can be customized (such as white gray, sea blue, crimson, dark gray, etc.), and surface textures such as flat coating, frosted, wood grain, stone grain, etc., can be selected, which has both decoration, weather resistance and stain resistance.
Protective Film Layer (Optional): The surface of some products will be covered with a PE protective film with a thickness of 0.03-0.05mm, which is mainly used to protect the topcoat layer during transportation and processing, prevent scratches, wear and pollution, and can be torn off after construction without affecting the appearance and performance of the product.

VII. Storage and Transportation Notes
Storage: It should be stored in a dry, ventilated and cool warehouse, avoiding outdoor storage to prevent rainwater immersion and sun exposure; the coils should be placed flat, and the stacking height should not be too high (no more than 3 layers) to avoid extrusion deformation; keep away from acid, alkali and corrosive substances to prevent coating damage.
Transportation: The coils should be fixed firmly during transportation to prevent rolling and collision of the coils, avoid scratching and wearing the surface coating; rainproof measures should be taken during rainy days transportation to prevent rainwater penetration leading to rusting of the base material; handle with care during handling to avoid mechanical damage.
Construction: The surface protective film (if any) should be torn off before construction, and sharp objects should be avoided from scratching the coating during construction; protective measures should be taken during cutting and bending to avoid coating peeling; the surface dust and stains should be cleaned in time after construction to extend the service life of the product.
