Flexible rolling bearings utilize the controllable elastic deformation of flexible components to transmit motion and power. The key point is that they have a large transmission ratio, wide application range, high precision, small backlash, large bearing capacity, high efficiency, small size, light weight, smooth operation, low noise, and can transmit motion to sealed spaces. Harmonic drive transmission devices consist of three basic components: wave generators, flexible wheels, rigid wheels, and flexible bearings. Among them, the flexible bearings are the core components, and the transmission device achieves the performance requirements of high reduction ratios through the elastic deformation of the bearings.
During operation, the inner ring of the flexible bearing is installed on an elliptical cam, and it is subjected to cyclic stress loads. The outer ring is installed on the flexible wheel, and it undergoes elastic deformation along with the rotation of the cam, thus not only bearing cyclic stress loads but also alternating stress loads.
