Product Overview
The F55 Pressure-Tolerant Weighing Coal Feeder is specifically designed for continuous, quantitative coal feeding for large-scale power plants and industrial boilers. It utilizes Saimo's advanced dynamic weighing technology for weight control and can meet the requirements of combustion control, inventory management, monitoring, and reporting. It is widely applicable for feeding various types of boilers in industries such as power generation, chemicals, and coal.
Working Principle
In a typical pulverized coal boiler feeding system, the coal feeder is installed beneath the coal bunker to continuously convey coal at a set flow rate into the pulverizer. The feeder connects to the bunker via an inlet chute, with coal directly resting on the feeder's inlet belt. During operation, as coal on the belt passes the weighing zone, two high-precision strain-gauge load cells installed beneath the weighing bridge detect the instantaneous coal weight in real-time.
A digital speed sensor mounted on the tail pulley provides continuous belt speed measurement. Installing the sensor on the tail pulley ensures accurate speed measurement, preventing inaccuracies caused by belt slip.
The speed and weight signals are processed by the Saimo feeder controller to calculate the instantaneous coal feed rate and accumulated total. The controller compares the actual flow signal with the desired flow signal from the combustion control room, and outputs a control signal via PID regulation to the inverter. This dynamically adjusts the belt speed to ensure continuous, uniform, and quantitative coal feed to the pulverizer. The coal is then discharged via the outlet chute into the pulverizer.

Robust, Pressure-Tolerant Enclosure: The feeder features a sturdy, sealed, pressure-resistant housing designed to withstand pressures up to 0.35 MPa, preventing air leakage and coal dust escape.

Shaft Sealing: All shaft exit points use packing gland seals to meet pressure containment requirements.

Access Doors: Front and rear access doors employ a tongue-and-groove structure; inspection windows use blind-hole connections, effectively enhancing sealing.

Sealing Air Interface: Equipped with a sealing air interface featuring a multi-point air outlet structure to improve sealing and effectively isolate hot air ingress.

Flat Idler & Belt: Utilizes a flat idler structure. The belt is an endless, jointless, flame-retardant, skirted rubber belt with a 40mm skirt height.

Drive Pulley: The drive pulley has a herringbone rubber lagging for strong traction and prevention of belt misalignment.

Tail Pulley: The tail pulley features a crowned, self-cleaning design to effectively prevent belt misalignment and coal buildup.

Take-up: Tail pulley tensioning uses a screw-type take-up device adjustable from outside the housing.

Belt Training: The return belt is equipped with a gravity-type automatic training device to ensure proper belt tracking.

Bearing Support: Main and tail pulley bearings are pillow block types, with lubrication points located outside the housing.

Idlers: 89mm diameter steel cylindrical idlers with minimal radial runout relative to the shaft, beneficial for accurate weighing.

Internal Belt Training: The feeder includes an automatic belt training device for self-correction of belt misalignment.

Belt Cleaning: External belt cleaning uses a weighted scraper. A chain conveyor at the bottom removes spilled material/fly ash.

Leveraging 30 years of R&D, production experience, and thousands of reliable field installations, Saimo designs and manufactures a wide variety of coal feeders. Models are available with belt widths from 500mm to 1400mm and lengths from 2m to 38m, tailored to specific site conditions. The pressure-resistant housing is constructed from carbon steel, manufactured and sealed to withstand explosion pressures of 0.35 MPa, meeting diverse customer needs.
The F55 feeder can be optionally equipped with the advanced Saimo Triple-Check Weighing Technology combined with a double-idler scale frame, achieving feeding accuracy as high as ±0.5%. This technology solves the problem of system failure when a single load cell malfunctions, allowing the feeder to continue operating in weighing mode even if one sensor fails, ensuring operational stability and reliability.
The Saimo controller, dedicated for coal feeders, uses a microprocessor and a large screen display. It conveniently shows parameters like instantaneous feed rate, accumulated total, deviation from setpoint, and other optional data, while indicating various statuses and alarms. It also provides outputs for remote monitoring and enables communication with DCS systems.
