1: The metallic aluminum content can be selected and processed between 95% - 99.7%;
2: It melts quickly after being put into molten steel, and the molten steel is evenly deoxidized under force;
3: It is not easy to float up after sinking into the molten steel, which shortens the deoxidation reaction time and increases the yield of metallic aluminum.
4: It is suitable for ladle refining and molten steel purification of various steels.
In the deoxidation of molten steel, aluminum plays the following specific roles:
I. Main deoxidation effect
Aluminum has a strong deoxidizing ability. It can react with oxygen in the molten steel to form aluminum oxide. The reaction formula is: 2Al + 3O = Al₂O₃. Aluminum oxide will float up and be discharged from the molten steel in the form of inclusions, thereby reducing the oxygen content in the molten steel and improving the quality of the steel.
II. Auxiliary removal of other impurities
1. Formation of composite inclusions: The generated aluminum oxide inclusions can adsorb some other tiny impurity particles in the molten steel, such as sulfur, phosphorus, etc., and be removed as the inclusions float up, further purifying the molten steel.
2. Improvement of the solidification structure of the steel: An appropriate amount of aluminum oxide inclusions can refine the solidification structure of the steel, improving the mechanical properties and processing performance of the steel.
III. Adjustment of the composition and properties of the molten steel
1. Influence on the hardness and strength of the steel: Aluminum can dissolve in the steel in solid solution, playing a certain role in solid-solution strengthening and improving the hardness and strength of the steel.
2. Improvement of the corrosion resistance of the steel: Aluminum forms a dense oxide film on the steel surface, enhancing the corrosion resistance of the steel.
