RTC8900 High-precision Clock Module

The RTC8900 high-precision clock module is a real-time clock module designed for application scenarios with high requirements for time accuracy, such as industrial control, power systems, security monitoring, and data centers. Its core performance features include high-precision timing, ultra-low power consumption, wide temperature adaptability, and integrated design.

Accuracy and Temperature Compensation: The module offers multiple accuracy levels, including ±2 ppm, ±3.4 ppm, and ±5 ppm. Frequency calibration is completed at the factory, eliminating the need for additional adjustments by users, thereby simplifying the design process and enhancing reliability. The built-in Digital Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (DTCXO) technology ensures stable performance in the temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, effectively countering frequency drift caused by environmental temperature changes.

Power Consumption and Power Management: The typical standby current consumption is 1.0 μA. It supports a wide voltage operating range (main power supply from 2.5 V to 5.5 V, clock holding voltage from 1.6 V to 5.5 V) and automatically switches to a backup power source (such as a battery or supercapacitor) when the main power supply is interrupted, ensuring zero loss of time data. This feature is particularly suitable for low-power scenarios that require long-term stable operation.

Function Integration and Reliability: The module integrates full-function calendars (supporting seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, and leap year correction), alarm interrupts, wake-up timers, and time update interrupts. It can communicate with the main controller through the I²C interface (400 kHz), simplifying system design. The package size is flexible, adaptable to different PCB layout requirements, and it has passed rigorous environmental tests to ensure long-term stability in industrial-grade applications.
