YG10X Virgin Materials Carbide Rods for Endmills With High Hardness and Wear Resistent 310mm/330mm

Cemented carbide rods, also known as tungsten carbide rods, are high-performance materials manufactured using powder metallurgy. They are primarily composed of tungsten carbide (WC), with binding metals such as cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni), and are produced through pressing and sintering.

This material is often referred to as the "teeth of industry" due to its extremely high hardness and wear resistance, and is widely used in the manufacture of cutting tools, wear-resistant parts, and molds.

Carbide rods have replaced high-speed steel as the mainstream cutting material primarily due to the following superior characteristics:

1) Extremely high hardness and wear resistance: Its hardness can reach HRA 86-93.5 (approximately HRC 69-81), second only to diamond. This means that it experiences minimal wear when processing hard materials, resulting in a long service life.

2) Excellent hot hardness: This is one of its most powerful characteristics. While ordinary steel softens at high temperatures, carbide maintains a very high hardness (such as 60 HRC) even at temperatures of 500℃ or even 900-1000℃, making it ideal for high-speed cutting.

3) Good corrosion resistance: It has excellent resistance to most acids, alkalis, and solvents, and its performance is very stable.

4) High strength and toughness: Although it is very hard, it also possesses a certain degree of bending strength and compressive strength, enabling it to withstand the impact forces during processing (of course, compared to high-speed steel, it is more brittle and susceptible to severe impact).

Tungsten-cobalt (YG): WC + Co (Suitable for machining brittle materials such as cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and stone.)

Tungsten-titanium-cobalt (YT): WC + TiC + Co (Suitable for machining ordinary steel (long-chip steel), as TiC effectively prevents steel from sticking.)

Tungsten-titanium-tantalum(niobium)-cobalt (YW): WC + TiC + TaC/NbC + Co (General-purpose matrix, suitable for machining both steel and cast iron and non-ferrous metals, especially suitable for difficult-to-machine materials.)
