Brief Introduction to Outboard Motors
The small four-stroke air-cooled outboard motor is a lightweight and high-efficiency marine propulsion device specially designed for small vessels (such as plastic boats, wooden boats and fiberglass fishing boats). It adopts a four-stroke cycle engine (intake, compression, combustion, exhaust) combined with an air-cooled heat dissipation system, eliminating the need for water-cooling devices, and features a compact structure and easy installation.
Its working principle is based on power generated by fuel combustion: the piston completes four strokes inside the cylinder, and the ignited fuel mixture pushes the crankshaft to rotate, which in turn drives the propeller to propel the vessel. The air-cooled system achieves natural cooling through the heat sinks on the engine casing and airflow from the fan, avoiding the complex pipelines and water pumps of water-cooled systems, thus enabling simple maintenance and low risk of clogging.
