Anti-Scratch & Wear-Resistant Thermoplastic Polyethylene Powder Coating for Heavy-Duty Electroplating Racks JigsProduct Introduction

Heavy-duty electroplating racks jigs are mainly used to hold large and heavy workpieces (such as automotive chassis parts and large hardware components). During use, they are often subject to friction with the workpieces and collision with equipment, resulting in scratches and wear on the surface, which reduces the protective effect of the coating and shortens the service life of the racks jigs. Our Anti-Scratch & Wear-Resistant Thermoplastic Polyethylene Powder Coating is tailored for this scenario. It is formulated with high-molecular-weight polyethylene resin as the base material, added with nano-scale wear-resistant particles and scratch-resistant modifiers. The coating has excellent scratch resistance and wear resistance, and can maintain a complete and smooth surface even under long-term heavy-duty use. At the same time, the coating also has good corrosion resistance and impact resistance, making it an ideal protective material for heavy-duty electroplating racks jigs in machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries.

Key Features for Heavy-Duty Scenarios

1. Outstanding Anti-Scratch Performance: With a pencil hardness of 4H - 5H, this coating is much harder than ordinary polyethylene coatings (usually 2H - 3H). It can resist scratches caused by the friction between heavy workpieces and the racks jigs, as well as scratches from sharp tools during maintenance, keeping the coating surface intact.

2. Superior Wear Resistance: In the Taber abrasion test (2000g load, 2000 cycles), the weight loss is less than 3 mg, which is only 1/3 of that of ordinary coatings. This excellent wear resistance ensures that the coating will not be worn through even after long-term use of the racks jigs, effectively protecting the metal substrate from corrosion.

3. High Mechanical Strength: The tensile strength of the coating is >20 MPa, and the elongation at break is >450%, which means it has strong toughness and load-bearing capacity. When the racks jigs carry heavy workpieces, the coating can adapt to the slight deformation of the racks jigs without cracking or peeling, ensuring the stability of the protective effect.

4. Strong Corrosion and Adhesion Performance: After 1500 hours of salt spray testing, there is no rust, blistering, or peeling on the coating surface, which is suitable for the humid and corrosive environment of electroplating workshops. The pull-off adhesion is >6 MPa, ensuring the coating is firmly bonded to the metal surface and not easy to fall off even under heavy load.

Installation and Maintenance GuidelinesInstallation Guidelines

1. Preparation of Racks Jigs: Before coating, check the structure of the racks jigs. For welding joints and sharp edges, grind them with a grinder to make the surface smooth and avoid missing spray or uneven coating at these positions. For deformed parts, correct them to ensure the racks jigs are in a straight state.

2. Pre-Treatment Process: First, use alkaline degreasing agent (concentration 5 - 8%) to soak the racks jigs at 50 - 60°C for 20 - 30 minutes to remove oil stains. Then, use 10% hydrochloric acid solution to remove rust at room temperature for 15 - 20 minutes. Finally, perform phosphating treatment (phosphating solution temperature 40 - 50°C, time 10 - 15 minutes) and dry at 90 - 110°C for 40 minutes.

3. Coating Application: Use the fluidized bed dipping method for coating. Preheat the racks jigs to 280 - 320°C, then immerse them in the fluidized bed of powder coating for 5 - 8 seconds. Control the coating thickness to 90 - 110 μm. For complex structures of the racks jigs, repeat the dipping process 1 - 2 times to ensure full coverage.

4. Curing and Cooling: Place the coated racks jigs in an oven for curing. The curing temperature is 200 - 220°C, and the curing time is 25 - 30 minutes. After curing, take them out and cool them in a cooling room (temperature 20 - 25°C) for 1 - 2 hours to avoid rapid cooling causing coating cracking.

Maintenance Guidelines

1. Regular Inspection: Inspect the coating of the racks jigs every two weeks. Focus on checking the positions that are often in contact with workpieces, such as hooks and support bars, for scratches, wear, or peeling. If small scratches are found, use the same type of powder coating to make a repair paste (mix powder with a small amount of solvent) and apply it to the scratch area, then cure it with a hot air gun.

2. Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the racks jigs every week. Use a soft brush dipped in neutral cleaning agent (pH 6 - 8) to wipe the surface, removing plating solution residues and dust. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaning agents, as they will scratch the coating surface. After cleaning, rinse with clean water and dry with a dry cloth.

3. Storage of Idle Racks Jigs: When the racks jigs are not in use, store them in a dry and ventilated warehouse. Place them on a wooden shelf (avoid direct contact with the ground) and cover them with a plastic film to prevent dust accumulation and moisture erosion. Before reuse, check the coating condition and clean it thoroughly.
