Drill pipe is an important component of drilling tools, used to connect the drill bit and transmit power. It plays a crucial role in the drill string, including lowering the drill bit, applying drilling pressure, transmitting power, transporting drilling fluid, and performing special operations such as squeezing cement and handling downhole accidents.

The drill collar is located at the very bottom of the drill string and is a major component of the lower drill assembly.  Its characteristic lies in its relatively thick wall, usually ranging from 38 to 50 millimeters, which can withstand considerable pressure and torque.

The tensile strength range of R780 geological pipe is 880/902 megapascals (MPa), and the yield strength range is 631/658 MPa.
