(1) Installation Steps
The installation process of 1785-ME64 is relatively simple, and the specific steps are as follows:
First, ensure that the PLC-5 series controller is in a power-off state to ensure the safety of the installation process.
Find the corresponding memory slot on the controller, which is usually clearly marked.
Align the pins of the memory module with the interface of the slot, gently insert the module into the slot, ensure that the module is fully inserted and in close contact with the slot, and avoid loosening.
After installation, check whether the module is installed firmly. Only after confirmation, the controller can be powered on.
(2) Usage Method
After the module is installed and powered on, the controller will automatically identify the 1785-ME64 memory module and incorporate it into the memory management system.
In the programming software (such as RSLogix 5), users can see the expanded memory capacity. When writing and downloading control programs, the system will automatically store the programs in all available memory including the module.
When the control program needs to be updated, download the new program to the controller through programming software, and the program will be automatically stored in the memory module, overwriting the old program (if set to overwrite mode).
