(1) Electrical Characteristics
Power requirements: The 1771-DB module obtains power from the backplane of the 1771 I/O enclosure during operation, usually requiring two types of power supplies: +5V DC and +24V DC. Among them, +5V DC mainly supplies power to the internal logic circuits of the module, with a typical current consumption within a specific range; +24V DC is used for driving the input/output of external digital signals, and the current consumption varies according to the number and type of external devices. This dual-power design not only ensures the stable operation of the internal circuits of the module but also provides a reliable driving power for external devices, simplifying the power supply configuration of the system.


Input characteristics: The number of digital input points is usually 16, and the input signal type is DC voltage signal, generally supporting an input range of 10-30V DC. Output characteristics: The number of digital output points is also 16, and the output type is relay output or transistor output. Relay output has strong load capacity and can drive AC or DC loads, such as contactors and solenoid valves. The load voltage range is wide, usually AC 120V/240V or DC 30V and below, and the maximum load current per point can reach several amperes; transistor output has a faster response speed, suitable for occasions with high requirements on response time. The load voltage is generally DC 24V, and the maximum load current per point is relatively small, usually between 0.5-2A.


(2) Interface Characteristics
External connection interface: The module is equipped with a standard terminal block or connector for connecting the signal lines of external digital devices. (1) Digital Signal Acquisition and Control
The core function of the 1771-DB module is to realize the acquisition and control of digital signals. It can accurately collect on-site digital input signals (such as switch signals from limit switches, photoelectric sensors, buttons, etc.) and transmit them to the PLC controller, enabling the controller to grasp the operating status of on-site equipment in real time. At the same time, it can receive control commands from the PLC controller and drive external actuators (such as solenoid valves, contactors, indicator lights, etc.) through the output end to achieve precise control of the production process. For example, in an automated production line, the module can collect the signal of the conveyor belt's position sensor. (2) Diagnosis and Status Indication
The module is equipped with rich status indicators, including power indicator lights, input point status indicators, and output point status indicators. The power indicator light being on indicates that the module is powered normally; each input point and output point has a corresponding independent status indicator light. When the input point receives a valid signal or the output point sends a control signal, the corresponding indicator light will be on, intuitively reflecting the working status of each point. This provides great convenience for technicians in debugging and troubleshooting.
