I. Product Overview


VE4006P2 is a crucial M-series serial interface card in Emerson's DeltaV™ system. This card is specifically designed to achieve efficient connection between the DeltaV™ system and devices supporting serial protocols, such as Modbus or Allen Bradley's Data Highway Plus, enabling stable communication through it. Its design aims to meet the strict requirements for reliability and convenience of data transmission in the field of industrial automation, providing strong support for building stable and efficient industrial control systems.

II. Technical Parameters


Port configuration: Equipped with 2 ports, each serial interface card can handle 32 data sets (16 per port). It has a variety of port types, including RS-232, RS422/485 half-duplex, and RS422/485 full-duplex, which can flexibly adapt to devices with different communication requirements.

Electrical characteristics: The baud rate supports multiple options such as 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200, etc., which can be flexibly adjusted according to actual communication scenarios; the parity check supports even parity, odd parity, and no parity modes to ensure the accuracy of data transmission. The working voltage is adapted to the DeltaV™ system standards to ensure stable operation.


Isolation performance: Each port is isolated from the system and other ports, and these ports must be externally grounded to enhance anti-interference ability, ensure the stability of data transmission in complex electromagnetic environments, and effectively prevent electrical interference between different devices from affecting communication quality.

Environmental adaptability: The operating temperature range is -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F), and the storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F), which can adapt to various extreme temperature scenarios from cold storage environments to high-temperature industrial production workshops. The relative humidity is allowed to be in the range of 5% - 95% (no condensation), and the protection level reaches IP20, which can effectively prevent dust and small foreign objects from entering, ensuring the stable operation of the equipment in harsh industrial environments.


Physical parameters: The product has a compact size, which is convenient for installation in various control cabinets. It adopts a standard installation method, facilitating integration into existing control system architectures.
