Basic Structure and Core Parameters
Main Components
Measuring base: Placed on the workbench, it provides a stable measurement reference and is usually precision-ground to ensure flatness.
Column: Perpendicular to the base, it serves as the moving track for the measuring carriage, and its precision directly affects measurement accuracy.
Digital display carriage: It can move up and down along the column, with a built-in sensor (such as a linear encoder). It displays the measured value in real-time through the screen. Some models are equipped with a fine-tuning knob for precise positioning.
Probe: Installed on the carriage, it can be replaced according to measurement needs (such as spherical probes, flat probes, and pointed probes). The material is mostly cemented carbide or ceramic, which is wear-resistant and ensures the precision of the measuring end.

Basic Measurement Functions
Direct measurement: Place the workpiece on the base, bring the probe into contact with the highest point of the workpiece, and the display directly shows the height value.
Relative measurement (zero-setting function): Take a certain plane as the reference (such as the bottom surface of the workpiece), press the "zero" key, and the display shows the difference from the reference when measuring other positions (such as step height, groove depth).
Unit conversion: Supports switching between mm (millimeter) and in (inch) to adapt to different usage habits.
Advanced Functions
Data output: Some models are equipped with RS232 or USB interfaces, which can be connected to computers and printers to realize data recording and analysis, avoiding manual reading errors.
Preset tolerance: After inputting the upper and lower tolerance values, an audible and visual alarm will prompt over-tolerance during measurement (suitable for batch quality inspection).
Continuous measurement mode: When the carriage is moved quickly, the display updates the value in real-time, facilitating the capture of dynamic measurement points.
