Working Principle
  • Signal Acquisition and Conversion: As an input module, it is mainly responsible for acquiring analog signals from field devices, such as the common 4-20mA current signal. The module is equipped with an Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC) circuit inside, which can precisely convert the input analog signals into digital signals for the control system to process, analyze and store.

  • System Integration and Communication: The RH916XG is part of the I/A Series DCS. By connecting with the Terminal Component (FTA), it can interface with all process signals in the Westinghouse system and fully integrate these signals into the I/A Series system. It uses specific communication protocols to interact with other devices in the system, such as controllers and operator stations, transmitting the acquired digital signals to relevant devices while receiving control commands or configuration information from other devices to achieve comprehensive monitoring and control of industrial processes.

Common Faults and Solutions
  • Communication Failure: It may be caused by network connection problems (such as damaged network cables, loose interfaces), incorrect communication protocol settings, or module hardware failures, etc. Check the network connection to ensure the network cable is intact and firmly connected, confirm that the communication protocol settings are consistent with other devices in the system, and try replacing the module to determine if it is a hardware problem.

  • Abnormal Signal Input: If the collected signal is inaccurate or there is no signal, it may be due to sensor failure, signal transmission line problems, or damage to the module's input channel. Check whether the sensor is working normally and measure its output signal; check the signal transmission line for open circuits, short circuits, etc.; connect the signal to other input channels to determine if the current channel is damaged, and contact for maintenance or replacement of the module if so.

  • Module Overheating: Poor ventilation in the installation environment, excessive module load, or internal component failures may cause overheating. Improve the installation environment to ensure there is enough space around the module for heat dissipation; check the module load to avoid overload operation; check whether the internal cooling fan is running normally, replace it in time if there is a failure, and if power component damage is suspected, professional personnel are required for maintenance or replacement.
