The combination of good weldable properties along with resistance to the grain-boundary precipitate being formed on the enables the Hastelloy C22 Tube to be used in an as welded condition. This being said, however, the Tubing Sb 622 UNS N06022 must not be used beyond a temperature of 1250° F. At temperatures exceeding 1250° F, the Hastelloy UNS N06022 Tubing material is prone to the formation of detrimental phases. This, in turn, could lead to loss of several important properties of the ASTM B622 UNS N06022 Tube.
As the ASTM B619 UNS N06022 Tube is able to withstand both oxidizing and reducing corrosive compounds, the Alloy C22 Tube proves to be an asset to the chemical processing industry. This is because, in chemical processing industries, the Alloy C22 Seamless Tubing offers optimum resistance to corrosion in upset conditions. The Hastelloy C22 Seamless Tubing proves to be useful against localized corrosion like pitting and crevice corrosion. Apart from marine environments, the 2.4602 Alloy 22 Tube resists acetic anhydride as well. In the presence of oxidizing media such as nitric acid, ferric and cupric salts, the Hastelloy Alloy C22 Tubing demonstrates good resistance.
