Introduction

V-ONE is a non-contact speed and length measuring instrument based on Laser-Doppler technology. It is designed for a various amount of industrial application. Laser-based measurement eliminates the problems of mechanical based devices / encoder, like wheel wear and slippage.
Based on newest digital signal processing V-ONE uses market unique analyzing technology and algorithms, giving the customer high flexibility in configuration and adjustment to match their application requirements.
V-ONE has a variety of industrial outputs and system inputs. It is factory calibrated and offers the ability of customization by configuring setup parameters using its communication software.   It can be used as a stand-alone instrument or be integrated in controlling and measurement systems.

Principle of Operation

V-ONE is a Laser Surface Velocimeter  (LSV) which uses the laser Doppler principle to evaluate velocity and length on moving surfaces.
A Laser beam is split into two beams using a beam splitter. At the working distance the two beams overlap with each other and generate an interference pattern on material surface.The light is scattered when material passes through this overlapping area (depth of field). The photo receiver collects the scattered light with the Doppler frequency and converts  it to the electrical signals. The signal contains velocity information of the moving object. This information is analyzed by the Digital Signal Processor. The Doppler frequency is converted to velocity information. After intelligent filter algorithm and signal validation of the device updates, the user gets the speed information over the interface outputs. The light volume in the reflection is also measured and used for other functions.
