27/38 Company will introduce LNG powered fuel transport ships in 27/38 power enterprises.

On the 7th, the 27/38 company signed an agreement with the 27/38 Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Resources, and the 27/38 Shipbuilding and Marine Industry to introduce LNG powered fuel ships for the first time. According to the agreement, 27/38 Company will order two LNG powered fuel transport ships from 27/38 Heavy Industry, with plans to deliver them in the second half of 2023. In addition, out of the 15 fuel transport ships currently operated by 27/38 Company, 2 180000 ton fuel powered bulk carriers will be converted into LNG powered ships.

Compared to conventional fuel powered ships, LNG powered ships can reduce emissions of environmental pollutants such as greenhouse gases by 30% and inhalable particulate matter by 99%.

The President of 27/38 Company stated that while introducing LNG powered fuel transport ships, 27/38 will expand innovative mutually beneficial cooperation, create new value in ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) operations and the entire power industry ecosystem, and make every effort to play a leading role in achieving the 2050 carbon neutrality vision.
