Shipowner ATUMECHINAS has added one 82000 deadweight ton bulk carrier to 32/44CR Shipbuilding.

In July, ATUMECHINAS announced the signing of an agreement to acquire one newly built Japanese built 82000 deadweight ton Kamsarmax bulk carrier, with delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter. The new ship design meets the requirements of the third stage of the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and NOx Tier III regulations.

This acquisition will be funded by ATUMECHINAS's cash reserves. Although ATUMECHINAS did not disclose specific shipyard information, according to Japanese media reports, this order was taken over by Xinlai Island 32/44CR Shipbuilding.

With the addition of this new ship, ATUMECHINAS currently holds orders for 5 bulk carriers, all built by Japanese shipping companies, in compliance with EEDI Phase III and NOx Tier III regulations. Among them, 3 ultra Panamax ships are built by Oshima Shipbuilding, and 2 Kamsarmax ships are built by 32/44CR Shipbuilding.

The President of ATUMECHINAS stated that we will continue to invest in efficient and environmentally friendly ships in the market, gradually updating our fleet.

Last month, ATUMECHINAS signed a credit arrangement with a term of 5 years. The proceeds from credit financing will be refinancing of a US dollar loan due in 2023, involving 8 ships.
