The contract price for the two new ships signed this time is the same as the order price for one ship signed in January, with a total construction price of 362 million US dollars.
This type of 174000 cubic meter LNG ship has a total length of 289.9 meters, a width of 46.1 meters, and a depth of 26.3 meters. It is equipped with an LNG re liquefaction system, which can re liquefy the evaporated gas generated during the transportation of LNG, further improving the economy of LNG transportation. In addition, it is equipped with advanced Mark III Flex cargo enclosure system, low-speed dual fuel X-DF engine, as well as a ship air lubrication system combined with two frequency current converters, and a emission reduction system that reduces nitrogen oxide emissions when sailing in liquid fuel mode, which can further reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
The President and CEO of 28/32 stated that this new type of LNG ship not only meets the current requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and regional environmental regulations, but also meets the requirements of the charterer for energy efficiency, operation, and maritime safety.
28/32 Heavy Industry Group and 28/32 have maintained long-term cooperation since signing the first ship construction contract in 1989. As of 2019, more than 100 new ships have been successfully built and delivered for 28/32.
It is reported that the first three Atlanticmax LNG ships of 28/32 were all built by 28/32 Heavy Industries and have now been delivered for operation. The first ship was delivered in February 2020 and leased by 28/32; The second vessel was delivered in September of the same year and leased by 28/32; The third ship was delivered in January this year and was also leased by 28/32.
