German Technical Background VOK-110 Wetting Dispersant It Can Well Reduce the Viscosity of Abrasive Replaces BYK-110
German technical background VOK ®- Disper 110 Wetting Dispersant
VOK ®- Disper 110 is used as a wetting and dispersing agent for solvent based, solvent-free coatings and printing inks to stabilize inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide. It can well reduce the viscosity of abrasive.
Product Information
Chemical composition
Polyphosphate solution
Typical Physicochemical Data
The data given in this data page are only typical values, not technical indicators of the product.
Acid value: 53 mg KOH/g
Density (20 ° C): 1.03 g/ml
Non volatile matter (10 minutes, 150 ° C): 52%
Solvent: propylene glycol methyl ether acetate/alkyl benzene 1/1
Flash point: 42 ° C
Storage and transportation
Mix well before use. Delamination or turbidity may occur, heat to 30-40 ° C and stir evenly.
Special attention
Due to the high acid value of the product, it may catalyze the crosslinking of the paint system. The viscosity rise of the paint system during storage shall be checked.
Application information
Paint industry and printing ink
Features and Benefits
The additive can deflocculate the pigment through space steric hindrance. Because the pigment particles of deflocculation are very small, high luster and color intensity can be obtained. In addition, transparency and hiding power are increased. The additive can reduce the viscosity, thereby improving the fluidity and increasing the amount of pigment added. When it is used for electrostatic high-speed rotary coating of inorganic pigment coatings, the fog shadow can be well reduced.
Recommended Applications
The additive is recommended to be used in solvent based and solvent-free coatings, as well as printing inks, to stabilize inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide. Because of its anionic properties, the additive is an ideal choice for acid catalytic systems (such as coil coatings).
Recommended dosage
Additive dosage (purchase form) is based on pigment
Inorganic pigment: 5-10%
Titanium dioxide: 2-4%
The above data are empirical dosage, and good dosage shall be determined through a series of tests.
Addition method and processing guidance
In order to obtain good performance, additives shall be added to the grinding material first, and then the pigment shall be added.
