Working medium: High salinity wastewater, and the composition are sodium chloride and sodium sulfate, with solid content 25%wt;
Evaporation capacity: 500kg/hr;
Steam consumption: 600kg steam per ton water evaporation;
Construction material: product wetted parts adopt SS316L, non wetted parts adopt SS304 or carbons steel per actual need.
Project Description
In this project, the high salinity wastewater was from gold metallurgy effluent, and it contains high salt content of sodium chloride and sodium sulfate, with solid content 25%wt. And the main problem in this problem was the small space for equipment layout as site. A double-effect central circulation evaporator was adopted because of the smaller occupied area required, and the overall height of the equipment was reduced to make the layout of the complete unit more compact.
There was circulating pumps installed under the evaporator, pushing the material circulating at the lower part of the evaporator, preventing the crystal solids from settling and caking which would lead to tube blockage.
Process Technology
A double-effect central circulation evaporator was adopted for the metallurgy effluent treatment, and the overall process flow was: the high salinity metallurgy effluent was concentrated by a double-effect central circulation evaporator till oversaturated, and then the oversaturated liquor was transferred into a centrifuge for liquor-solid separation, and the solids separated were treated in further, and the mother liquor were returned to the evaporator to be concentrated again.
Equipment Description
1 set of double-effect central circulation evaporator is adopted, which is able to meet the following demands:
1). The high salinity effluent is concentrated from over-saturation;
2). All components in the plant are well designed to ensure safety in production.
3). The forced circulation pump equipped can effectively prevent the crystal solids from setting and caking which would lead to tube blockage, and can slow the formation of scaling on the heat exchange surface at the mean time, improve the heat transfer efficiency, increase the continuous operation time of equipment, and reduce the cleaning frequency;
4). The main configuration of the plant is as below:
a. One set of double-effect central circulation evaporator, which consists of central circulation heater, central circulation evaporator, condenser, circulating pump, and vacuum unit. ;
b. One set of centrifuge and mother liquor collecting and returning system;
c. One set of heat recovery system recovering condensate water;
d. One set of PLC control system.
