Product Overview: The high voltage static var compensator (SVC) is generally composed of a fixed capacitor bank (FC), an adjustable reactor and a control system. There are two different types of adjustable reactors: (1) Thyristor Controlled Reactor (TCR); (2)Magnetically Controlled Reactor (MCR). Working principle: The fixed capacitor bank provides capacitive reactive power-Qc under the fundamental wave, the controllable reactor provides inductive reactive power Qt, and the load reactive power is QI, then the grid-provided reactive power Q=QI-Qc + Qt. Due to the continuous and fast adjustment of Qt, the reactive power provided by the grid tends to zero or a certain value through the fast follow-up of the inductive reactive power of the controllable reactor.
