PVC has been in use as an insulating and outers heating material for a long time. Since PVC has some degree of flame retardance, and resistance to oils and chemicals, it has found many suitable applications including low power and control uses. Generally, they are two types of PVC, general purpose and heat resistance PVC with maximum conductor temperatures of 70℃ and 90℃respectively.
PVC Insulated cables are used in power distribution, building wire, appliance wiring, flexible cord and machine tool wiring. Insulation and jackets made from PVC have a number of desirable properties that make them the insulation and jacketing material of choice for many common applications. These properties include flexibility, resistance to temperature, resistance to adverse environmental situations and low cost.
PVC insulated cables can be manufactured both armored and unarmored, including one with reduces neutral conductor and a phase-to-phase voltage of 1000 volts. The conductor used in mainly plain annealed copper, other conductors such as tinned copper and aluminum are also available and may be supplied upon request.
