Any combination of optimization choices can be selected, however, selecting Add Additional Dispense Heads without selecting Insertions provides no advantage.

#NAME?
No consideration is given to the orientation of the component insertion. Table index steps are added for insertions that cannot be performed at 0° table rotation.

Advanced: When the Advanced checkbox is selected, advanced search techniques are used to improve the nearest neighbor optimization. Due to these search techniques, advanced optimization may take several minutes to complete.

Eliminate Conflicts: When the Eliminate Conflicts checkbox is selected, the optimize feature attempts to reorder insertions so the machine can insert components without interfering with components already on the board. Any conflicts still remaining after optimiza-tion are displayed in the Conflict column of the Steps window.

Add Additional Dispense Heads (sequencing machines only):
-Checkbox selected: Dispense heads are added for each component ID at 0° or 180° orientation as required by the product to eliminate table rotations. Steps are then assigned to the appropriate dispense head.
If the Polarized Component? field is defined as No in the component database, that component is assigned the first available dispense head of that component ID, regardless of orientation of the component in that dispense head.
If the Polarized Component? field is defined as Yes in the component database, dispense heads are assigned as shown in the following tables.
Axial Machines  Radial Machines
Rotation of Component on Board  Rotation of Component in Dispense Head  Rotation of Component on Board  Rotation of Component in Dispense Head
0°  0°  0°  0°
90°  90°
180°  180°  270°

270°  180°  180°
For example, on an axial machine if component A is inserted four times on the board, once at each orientation of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°, two dispense heads are assigned for component A. The first undesignated dispense head is assigned at 0° for the 0° and 90° insertions. A second dispense head is added at 180° for the 180° and 270° insertions.
This optimization eliminates the need for any insertions in the third and fourth workboard holder rotations.
-Checkbox cleared: Each component ID in the product is assigned to the next unassigned dispense head. If a dispense head already is assigned the component ID, no additional assignment is made. No consideration is given to the orientation of the component

#NAME?
For example, if dispense heads 1, 2, and 3 supply component A, dispense head 1 supplies that component for the first insertion, dispense head 2 supplies that component for the second insertion, and so on. This means that all three dispense heads are used equally.
Before using this feature, additional dispense head-component combinations must be created in the Dispense Head List window using Dispense Head > Copy. For example, to supply the component from three dispense heads, copy the dispense head-component combination twice.

Board: Starting with the insertion closest to the upper left corner of the board, the Product Editor uses the X change, Y change, span change (if applicable), and the machine type to optimize the product. This type of optimization applies to a single board or multi-circuit boards.

Circuit: This choice is only available if circuits are programmed on the board.

For this example, optimization is performed in this order. (Circuits are white, offsets are shaded.)
Circuit 1
Circuit 2
Offset 3
Offset 4
