II. Work principle
The water softener is special to remove the calcium and magnesium ions, the efficiency can reach to 99%, meanwhile, the algae, solid suspended substances also can be removed, the water after treatment is softened and clear.
When the raw water containing hard ions, it passes through the internal resin layer of water softener, the calcium, magnesium ions in the water can be exchanged and adsorbed by resin, meanwhile, the sodium ion with the equivalent amount can be released. The water coming out from the water softener, that is the softened water without hard ions. The exchange process as follows:
2RNa + Ca2+ = R2Ca + 2Na+
2RNa + Mg2+ = R2Mg + 2Na+
When water passes through the sodium ion exchanger, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are replaced to sodium ions.
When the sodium ion exchange resin loses efficiency, in order to restore the exchange capacity, the regeneration treatment is needed, the regenerant is cheap with wide good source, that is salt solution. There is the following regeneration process:
R2Ca + 2NaCl = 2RNa + CaCl2
R2Mg + 2NaCl = 2RNa + MgCl2
After the above treatment, the regeneration process is to use salt in the salt tank to flush the resin layer, and the hard ions on the resin are replaced, and discharged to the outside tank with regeneration waste liquid, and the resin restores the softening exchange capacity.
III. Application scopes:
Full-automatic water softener: widely used in supplemental water softening of steam boiler, hot water boiler, exchanger, evaporation condenser, air conditioner, direct-fired machine and so on, also can be used in domestic water treatment of hotels, restaurants, office buildings, flats and so on. The softened water treatment of food, beverage, making wines, washing clothes, dyeing and washing, chemical engineering, pharmacy and so on. At present, it has been widely used in the circulating supplemental water of all kinds of steam boiler, hot water boiler, heat exchanger, evaporation condenser, air conditioner, direct-fired machine and so on, also used in domestic water treatment and the pretreatment of desalinization system of food, electroplating, pharmacy, chemical engineering, dyeing and printing, textile, electronics and so on.
