Description of Sodium Tripolyphosphate:
Sodium tripolyphosphate is a white powder material with melting point 622 ℃, which is soluble in water with significant chelating capacity to calcium and magnesium and other metal ions, Sodium Tripolyphosphate can soften hard water to make suspension into solution. Features: slightly alkaline, non-corrosive, sodium tripolyphosphate is an inorganic surfactant, which has strong emulsification with lubricating oil and fat, bulk density is usually divided into a low density 0.35-0.5g / cm 3, medium density of 0.51-0.65g / cm 3, high density 0.66-0.9g / cm 3.
Sodium tripolyphosphate have two crystalline forms: type I (high temperature type) and type II (low temperature type), both with the same chemical properties, type I thermal stability and moisture difference is higher than that of type II, and the solubility, dissolution heat of hydration is also different between them.
Application of Sodium Tripolyphosphate:
Sodium Tripolyphosphate can be used in many refractories such as bulk material, castables, Ramming mixes. It is reducing agent, glue solution, Flame retardants and binding agent in magnesia refractory.
