Applications:  

To measure the fine size which you cannot measure with a vernier scale and to check the tiny defects you cannot find by your human eye.

To measure the size of a tiny gap of a metal camera adapter and to take pictures of the metal camera surface texture for evaluation of quality, including surface roughness, contour, form, waviness and defects.

 

 

Calibration:

With a 10mm/ 0.1mm glass micro ruler (Figure 1), to calibrate the movable reticle of the software (Figure 2).

At 40X, the 1mm length of ruler is covered by 13.75 units of reticle, so the division value of reticle is: 1 / 13.75 =0.072mm (Figure3).
At 240X, the 1mm length of ruler is covered by 52.0 units of reticle, so the division value of reticle is: 1 / 52.0 =0.019mm (Figure 4).

Law Enforcement

Real U.S. bills are printed using techniques that regular offset printing and digital, the portraits are sharp and contain very fine detailing. While the portraits in fake bills may appear dull, blurred, and flat. Examining the micro-printing with our MDA1300 usb portable microscope is the most correct way.
