A CAT5E or CAT6 UTP keystone jack (TP-5202-C5EU8, TP-5202-C6U8) is a type of connector used to terminate twisted-pair network cables in structured cabling systems. The keystone jack typically has an RJ45 connector, which is the most common type of connector used in Ethernet networks.
CAT5E CAT6 UTP keystone jacks are designed for use with CAT5E CAT6 Ethernet cables, which support data rates up to 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) and frequencies up to 100 MHz. The keystone jack follows the T568A or T568B wiring scheme, which determines the pinout of the connector and affects how the cable is terminated.
The keystone jack is designed to work with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables, which are the most common type of Ethernet cables used in structured cabling systems. UTP cables consist of four pairs of twisted wires, with no shielding or grounding.
To install the keystone jack, it is inserted into a keystone wall plate, which is mounted in a standard wall box. The keystone jack snaps into the wall plate and is secured using a retaining clip. The cable is then terminated onto the keystone jack using a punch-down tool, which cuts and terminates the wires into the appropriate slots in the connector.
