Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with a suspended growth bioreactor or ultrafiltration with a suspended growth bioreactor, and is now widely used for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.
Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems offer several operational and economic advantages compared to traditional wastewater treatment plants. MBR systems eliminate the need for secondary clarifiers and tertiary treatment. This allows to increased performance with a smaller footprint.
