1. What is the difference between hypochlorite acid and sodium hypochlorite?
Hypochlorite acid (HOCl) is a more potent disinfectant than sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) when used at the same available chlorine concentration. Our system produces a solution containing both HOCl and OCl⁻, with the ratio adjustable by pH control. The system is designed to produce a stable hypochlorite acid solution suitable for disinfection.
2. How much salt is needed to operate the system?
Salt consumption varies with capacity. Typically, 3.0–3.5 kg of salt is required to produce 1 kg of equivalent chlorine. The automatic salt dissolving tank stores enough salt for several days of operation, depending on the hopper size and production rate. The system automatically replenishes the brine solution as needed.
3. Can the system be used for drinking water disinfection?
Yes, our system is suitable for potable water disinfection when operated with proper brine quality and post-treatment filtration. The produced hypochlorite acid solution meets disinfection standards. We recommend using high-purity salt (food grade) to minimize impurities.
4. What is the lifespan of the electrolysis cell?
