1. Product Overview
Flat Bar is a solid long-section steel with a rectangular cross-section, manufactured from steel billets through hot rolling, cold drawing or finishing processes. Featuring excellent flatness, superior weldability, convenient bending and punching performance, and complete size specifications, it serves as a fundamental core material for steel structure engineering, mechanical manufacturing, hardware processing, grounding and lightning protection projects. Our factory mainly supplies two core series: Hot Rolled Flat Bar andCold Drawn Flat Bar. All specifications of Flat Bar are applicable to steel structure connecting plates, support bases, mechanical accessories, guardrail components, lightning protection grounding, equipment bases and other working conditions. Produced with standardized rolling technology, Flat Bar has a dense internal structure, excellent flatness, and crack-free and scar-free surface. It can be directly processed by cutting, bending, punching, welding and hot-dip galvanizing without secondary plate shearing. With high cost performance, it has become a widely used general profile in domestic infrastructure and overseas manufacturing projects.
2. Product Classification
Classified by production technology, surface treatment and performance,Flat Bar is divided into two core categories, fully covering application scenarios in construction, steel structure, machinery and outdoor anti-corrosion fields:
1. Hot Rolled Flat Bar: Hot Rolled Flat Bar is formed by high-temperature rolling with an original black surface and natural rounded corners at the edges. It features good plasticity, easy weldability and obvious cost advantages. As the most widely used Flat Bar in the market, it is extensively applied in steel structure connectors, supports, guardrails, grounding engineering and equipment bases, suitable for ordinary civil construction, steel structure and conventional outdoor projects.
2. Cold Drawn Flat Bar: Cold Drawn Flat Bar is finished by cold drawing at room temperature, with a bright and clean surface, high dimensional accuracy, small tolerance and excellent straightness. It is mostly used for mechanical parts, mold backing plates and precision assembly accessories that require high dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
3. Special-purpose Flat Bar: Including hot-dip galvanized Flat Bar, stainless steel flat bar and forged flat bar. It supports semi-finished processing such as pickling, polishing, drilling and fixed-length cutting, adapting to special working conditions including humid corrosive environments, heavy-load stress and precision mechanical assembly.
3. Implementation Standards & Material Grades
All Flat Bar products are manufactured in strict accordance with national steel profile standards. Chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerance and flatness are fully controlled throughout production. Complete MTC material test certificates can be provided to meet the acceptance requirements of domestic engineering projects and export orders:

4. Specification Parameters
4.1 Thickness & Width Range
Conventional Flat Bar thickness: 3mm-60mm; width: 10mm-200mm; Common specifications: 20×3, 30×4, 40×5, 50×5, 60×6, 80×8, 100×10mm; Custom non-standard thickness and width sizes are supported. Thin-gauge flat bars are mostly used for supports, guardrails and grounding, while thick-gauge flat bars are applied to bases and heavy-load bearing components.
4.2 Length Range
Standard fixed lengths: 6000mm, 9000mm, 12000mm. Custom fixed and multiple lengths are supported to reduce on-site cutting loss and match the blanking dimensions of various processing and engineering projects.
4.3 Surface & Delivery Condition
Hot-rolled flat bars are delivered with flat black surfaces; cold-drawn flat bars have bright surfaces; galvanized Flat Bar features uniform and firm zinc layers. All products are free of cracks, warping and burrs. Custom deep processing including cutting, bending, punching and hot-dip galvanizing is available, adapting to welding, bolt assembly and other construction technologies.

7. Processing Methods
1. Cutting & Blanking Processing: Flat Bar can be sawn, flame cut and plasma cut according to drawing sizes into fixed-length segments for connectors and bases.
2. Bending Forming Processing:Hot Rolled Flat Bar and Cold Drawn Flat Bar can be cold bent to form supports, hoops and special-shaped support parts.
3. Punching & Drilling Processing: Flat Bar surfaces can be punched and drilled for bolt assembly connection, replacing on-site hole opening operations.
4. Surface Anti-corrosion Processing: Support hot-dip galvanizing, painting, pickling and polishing to improve the rust and corrosion resistance of Flat Bar, adapting to open-air outdoor working conditions.
8. Packaging, Quality Inspection & Delivery
1. Packaging Standard: Finished Flat Bar is multi-point bundled with high-strength steel straps, sorted and aligned with material labels attached to each bundle. Export orders adopt reinforced marine packaging suitable for container ocean transportation.
2. Quality Inspection Guarantee: Each batch of Flat Bar undergoes chemical composition, tensile, cold bending and dimensional flatness tests; galvanized Flat Bar is additionally tested for zinc layer thickness and adhesion. Original factory MTC certificates are provided, supporting SGS, BV and other third-party inspection and acceptance.
3. Delivery Cycle: ConventionalFlat Bar, Hot Rolled Flat Bar and Cold Drawn Flat Bar are in sufficient stock and delivered within 3-7 working days; non-standard fixed-length and deep-processed semi-finished Flat Bar are delivered within 10-15 working days.
4. Logistics Distribution: Support full-truck domestic transportation and port container loading, complying with FOB, CIF and other international trade terms.
9. Storage & Usage Precautions
1. Store Flat Bar on hardened ground with high terrain and smooth drainage, stacked at an elevated height to avoid rusting caused by water accumulation. Stack Flat Bar of different grades and specifications separately with clear marks.
2. Stack hot-rolled, cold-drawn and galvanized Flat Bar separately by specification and material to avoid mixed use. Galvanized Flat Bar is preferred for outdoor scenarios, and ordinary black-surface flat bars are not recommended for long-term open-air placement.
3. Take protective measures during hoisting and handling Flat Bar to prevent collision and warping deformation. Flat Bar with severe warping, cracks or excessive rust is prohibited for main load-bearing structures.
4. Distinguish between Hot Rolled Flat Bar and Cold Drawn Flat Bar during project selection; choose Cold Drawn Flat Bar for precision assembly and Hot Rolled Flat Bar for ordinary welded structures, and random replacement is not allowed.
5. The cutting, bending, welding and punching processing of Flat Bar shall comply with processing specifications to ensure component dimensional accuracy and welding quality, guaranteeing overall structural safety.
