I. Product Overview

The maxon planetary gearbox is precisely manufactured in the original German factory. It is a dedicated coaxial reduction transmission unit that matches maxon DCX brushed and ECX brushless coreless motors. It is divided into two major product lines: the classic GP standard series and the new-generation lightweight GPX high-performance series, covering the range from Φ4mm micro to high-torque industrial specifications, with a torque range of 0.002 Nm to 120 Nm. It adopts a standard planetary coaxial transmission structure, with the input and output in the same direction. Multiple planet gears are synchronously stressed, and the torque density is much higher than that of ordinary cylindrical gearboxes. It has a modular 1 - 5 stage stacking design, with a reduction ratio covering the full range from 3.9:1 to 6285:1, which can be freely matched according to needs. It is calibrated and matched with the corresponding motor at the factory, eliminating the need for additional adapter accessories, and maximizing the coaxiality and transmission stability.

1. GP Series (Classic Standard Model)

  • Positioning: Economical and general-purpose planetary gearhead, with sufficient stock and high cost-performance ratio

  • Size: All specifications such as Φ6/8/10/16/22/32mm, including the commonly used GP 6 A (Φ6mm, 0.002 - 0.03 Nm)

    • UP High-performance Model: The planetary gear is equipped with needle/ball bearings inside. Rolling friction replaces sliding friction, with a transmission efficiency of 90%. It supports force feedback and reversible transmission, and is mostly used in surgical robots and aviation mechanisms.

    • Low-backlash Model: Extremely small return clearance and high-precision positioning.

    • Silent Plastic Model: Low noise, suitable for silent equipment such as cameras and endoscopes.

  • Advantages: Shorter body, lighter weight, higher allowable input speed, and a 30% reduction in vibration noise.

III. Advantages of Core General Technologies

  1. Compact and high torque density. The minimum outer diameter is only 4mm. It can output large torque corresponding to the specification in an extremely small volume, and is perfectly suitable for equipment with limited installation space such as endoscopes, micro probes, and wearable devices.

  4. Ultra-high speed tolerance. The continuous input speed of the micro specification can reach 40000 rpm. It is matched with the ECX series high-speed brushless micro motors, with no risk of tooth breakage or overheating.

  5. Multiple material selections, suitable for extreme working conditions. Metal/ceramic/plastic planetary gears are optional. It supports customization for high temperature, low temperature, medical sterilization, and dust and water protection (IP54–IP67). It has a wide temperature range of - 40℃~+150℃, suitable for satellites and field detection equipment.

  6. Modular and rapid customization. The number of stages, reduction ratio, output shaft diameter, shaft length, bearing type, and backlash level can all be customized. The original factory can provide STEP 3D drawings and Datasheet selection manuals.

  7. Low vibration and low noise. The gear tooth surface is precisely ground, with uniform and smooth meshing and no harsh abnormal noise. It is suitable for noise-sensitive equipment such as medical and optical equipment.
