Steel Strand is a prestressed wire twisted by multiple high-strength carbon steel wires. Steel Strand undergoes stabilized stress relaxation treatment, featuring high strength, good toughness, low relaxation value and excellent anchoring performance. It is a core building material indispensable in bridge road, infrastructure and geotechnical engineering.Steel Strand is mainly divided into Prestressed Steel Strand and Galvanized Steel Strand. Different types of Steel Strand can adapt to various working conditions such as concrete prestressed tensioning, rock and soil anchoring, overhead wiring and anti-corrosion support. Steel Strand has complete specifications and stable mechanical properties, meeting the load-bearing and tensioning requirements of various large-scale projects. Prestressed Steel Strand is an uncoated high-strength structural wire with high tensile strength and low prestress loss, widely used in concrete prestressed engineering. Galvanized Steel Strand adopts hot-dip galvanizing anti-corrosion technology with uniform and adhesive coating, featuring excellent rust and aging resistance, suitable for outdoor, humid and corrosive environment construction. Steel Strand supports fixed-length processing, cutting and end treatment. Prestressed Steel Strand has sufficient stock of mainstream engineering specifications with stable and efficient delivery. Galvanized Steel Strand supports customized coating thickness to meet the anti-corrosion grade requirements of different projects. 3. Specification Parameters
Common nominal diameters of Steel Strand: 9.53mm, 12.7mm, 15.2mm, 17.8mm, 21.6mm, covering full specifications from small and medium to large-scale projects. Prestressed Steel Strand adopts 1×7 structure 15.2mm and 12.7mm as general engineering specifications, with stable tensile strength, qualified elongation and low relaxation, and dimensional deviation strictly complying with national standards. Galvanized Steel Strand covers full series of specifications with customizable galvanized coating thickness, no missing plating and no peeling, delivering excellent salt spray and corrosion resistance. Conventional fixed lengths: 100m, 200m, 500m, 1000m. Custom cutting, fixed-length processing and end polishing are available, and non-standard Steel Strand can be customized.
4. Classification & Surface Treatment
- Prestressed Steel Strand (Black uncoated): Original high-strength twisted process without surface coating, featuring high strength and low relaxation with high cost performance, specially designed for concrete prestressed tensioning. - Galvanized Steel Strand (Hot-dip galvanized): Integral hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion treatment with uniform and full coating and strong adhesion, effectively isolating water vapor, acid and alkali corrosion, suitable for long-term outdoor service scenarios. - Special types: Bonded and unbonded Steel Strand can be processed to meet the construction needs of high-end buildings and long-life projects.
5. Main Applications
Steel Strand is widely used in highway bridges, railway bridges, tunnel surrounding rock support, slope protection, foundation pit anchoring, water conservancy dams, prestressed floor slabs, large venue steel structures, power overhead lines, communication tower frames, mine support and other infrastructure projects. Prestressed Steel Strand is mainly used for concrete prestressed tensioning projects, including bridge box girders, T-beams, cast-in-place beams, dam anchorage and building prestressed structures, which effectively improves the bearing capacity of concrete structures and reduces structural deformation. Galvanized Steel Strand is mostly used for power wiring, tower support, outdoor curtain wall tensioning, open-pit mine support and anchoring projects in coastal corrosive areas, extending project service life with excellent anti-corrosion performance. Most infrastructure and geotechnical projects adopt a combination of Prestressed Steel Strand and Galvanized Steel Strand to fully adapt to different working conditions and highlight the core advantages of high strength, stability and durability of Steel Strand.
6. Packing, MOQ & Lead Time
- Packing: Steel Strand is coiled and bundled with waterproof wrapping paper, plastic film and steel strips, moisture-proof, rust-proof and not easy to scatter, suitable for long-distance transportation by sea, railway and truck.
- MOQ: 1 ton minimum order quantity, mixed batch of Prestressed Steel Strand and Galvanized Steel Strand is supported.
- Lead Time: 7-10 days for in-stock specifications, 18-25 days for customized coating, special structure and non-standard length orders. Original material certificates and mechanical performance test reports are available. Third-party authoritative inspection such as SGS and BV is acceptable, supporting FOB, CIF, DAP and other foreign trade terms.
